Adobe brings Photoshop, Firefly, and 70+ creative tools into Slack

Adobe launched 'Adobe for Slack,' an app built on MCP (Model Context Protocol) that wires more than 70 of its creative tools — Firefly, Photoshop, Express, Premiere, Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Stock, and Lightroom among them — directly into Slack. It works through Slackbot, Slack's built-in assistant, which can pull context from messages, files, channels, and Canvases before calling the right Adobe tool automatically.

The practical examples Adobe gave are a good sense of the intent: ask Slackbot to summarize a project brief and turn it into a PDF, image, or video; resize approved campaign creative for different social platforms; or batch-edit a set of photos — removing backgrounds, adjusting lighting, producing variations — without anyone leaving the Slack conversation to open Photoshop. It's available now to Slack Business+ and Enterprise+ customers, and you can start using it without an Adobe account, though signing in unlocks more tools and your actual Creative Cloud files.

This is part of a broader pattern worth noting: Adobe already supports ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot, with Gemini integration coming soon. Rather than betting on one AI assistant, Adobe is making its tools reachable from inside whichever one you already use for work — a sign that for established software companies, 'be available inside every major AI interface' is becoming the strategy, not a bet on any single chatbot winning.
